SERVICE HOURS
Volunteers enhance SMMS's ability to provide a better educational environment and foster a sense of Catholic community and faith formation. In order to do this, families are required to complete 30 service hours at the school. School families may achieve this through several ways: Yard/recess duty, biweekly art lessons, copy room attendant, or field trip chaperone (approved by administration) are a few options. This enhances our sense of community and defrays some of our operating costs. If a school family does not wish to volunteer 30 hours to the school, they may opt to "buy out" of their obligation by paying $900 or $75 per month at $30 an hour. All service hours must be completed by May 1, 2025.
2nd Grade Sacrament Fee (First Holy Communion)
Baptismal Certificate: If a child was baptized somewhere other than SMMC, parents should provide SMMS with a copy of the baptism certificate.
Parent Meetings: Parent Meetings are scheduled for the benefit of parents preparing for their sacraments. Parent attendance is mandatory for all scheduled parent meetings.
First Holy Communion: The sacrament of First Holy Communion will be celebrated as an entire SMMS class. The celebration date will be announced in May. Fees covering learning materials, retreats, small receptions, and other related fees will be billed through FACTS.
8th Grade Graduation Fee
A $300 non-refundable fee will be charged to all St. Margaret Mary School 8th graders. This fee helps offset the cost of graduation expenses, including Disneyland, cap and gown, awards ceremony, Baccalaureate Mass, and Graduation Ceremony.
Payment Methods
There are two methods for payment of tuition:
- Pay in full by July 1, 2024. A 3% discount is given to all school families who pay their tuition obligations in full by the July 1 deadline.
- Enroll with FACTS. Families can view their accounts and have 24/7 access. Twelve tuition payments will be withdrawn on the 5th or 20th of every month from a selected account through our online payment system. The first tuition payment for the 2024-2025 academic year will be deducted in June, and after that, on the 5th or 20th of every month from June 2024 - May 2025, making 12 tuition payments.
FACTS Tuition Management
If FACTS cannot withdraw a tuition payment, there will be a $30 fee payable to FACTS and a $25 insufficient funds fee payable to SMMS.
"Registered SMMC Parish Member Rate" - Discounted Tuition
To receive the discounted tuition, school families must register with the parish and submit at least 10 Mass envelopes to verify Mass attendance. Please understand that we are preparing our students to "participate both in the spiritual and liturgical life of the parish..." We ask that you support our philosophy by attending weekly Mass and participating in the sacraments and parish activities.
